Job summary

Corvallis School District 509J is seeking a part-time paraeducator to assist licensed staff in implementing individualized education programs (IEPs) for students with moderate to severe disabilities. The role involves small group and one-to-one instruction, data collection, and supporting behavior management under supervision.

Responsibilities include assisting with academic and life skills instruction, collaborating with staff, and ensuring a safe, supportive learning environment.

Qualifications

• An associate's degree, two years post secondary study, or passing score on assessment.
• Prior experience working with special needs children desirable.

Responsibilities

• Assist in implementing developmental, academic and life skills instructional programs.
• Support instruction in small groups or one-to-one settings under licensed staff.
• Assist with behavior management and model appropriate interpersonal actions.
• Record and maintain developmental data and communicate feedback to licensed staff.
• Supervise students in and outside the classroom to support instructional programs.
• Provide instruction to students in basic skills, behavior, communication, self-help, motor, and academic skills.
• Assist students with physical movement and basic needs as required by IEP goals.
