Job summary

Sugar Creek Elementary in Waukee, Iowa is seeking a Part-Time Special Education Associate to support students with learning needs in a 3 hours 20 minutes schedule (9:00-12:20). The role emphasizes assisting the classroom teacher, reinforcing material, PBIS support, and helping with lunch, breaks, and supervision.

The candidate should have a High School diploma (preferred) and prior associate experience (preferred).

Qualifications

• Experience as an associate preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist with individual students or small groups to reinforce material or skills introduced by the teacher.
• Assist the teacher in devising strategies for reinforcing material or skills based on individual students’ needs, interests and abilities.
• Support generalization of skills in an integrated setting.
• Demonstrate effective communication skills.
• Demonstrate collaborative skills in a team environment.
• Support PBIS (Positive Behavior Interventions and Support) for all students in all settings.
