Job summary

North Middle School in Waukee, IA is seeking a 6-8 Special Education Associate to support students under the supervision of licensed teachers. The role involves assisting with instruction, implementing behaviour plans, and helping with daily routines and supervision.

The position requires a High School diploma (preferred) and experience as an associate (preferred). Hours are 7 per day with a 30-minute unpaid lunch, and compensation starts at $19.35 per hour.

Responsibilities

• Work with individual students or small groups to reinforce learning of material or skills initially introduced by the teacher.
• Assist the teacher in devising strategies to reinforce material based on students' needs and abilities.
• Support generalization of skills in an integrated setting.
• Demonstrate effective communication and collaboration within a team.
• Support PBIS for all students in all settings.
• Assist with supervision during drills, assemblies, lunch, and field trips.
