Job summary

Lenox Hill Neighborhood House in New York, NY seeks a Part-Time Social Worker for the Women’s Mental Health Shelter. The role focuses on providing comprehensive social services, case management, crisis intervention, and linkage to housing and benefits for chronically homeless women with mental health needs.

Reporting to the Clinical Director, the worker will collaborate with psychiatrists, nurses, and housing staff, supporting trauma-informed care and recovery goals while maintaining detailed

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Social Work (BSW) is required.
• MSW or LMSW is preferred.
• Spanish fluency is strongly ideal.

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive social services and case management to an assigned caseload.
• Assist clients with applying for and maintaining government benefits.
• Connect clients to on-site and community-based mental health, medical, and housing services.
• Participate in treatment planning, case conferences, and meetings with psychiatric and medical providers.
• Support clients in developing recovery goals using a person-centered approach.
• Facilitate groups and workshops that promote mental wellness and independence.
• Provide crisis intervention and de-escalation as needed.
• Escort clients to housing tours and appointments as required.
• Maintain timely documentation in databases per agency and regulatory requirements.
