Job summary

Lenox Hill Neighborhood House in New York, NY seeks a Part-Time Social Worker for the Women’s Mental Health Shelter. You will provide social services, case management, housing counseling, crisis intervention, and trauma‑informed support to clients.

Reporting to the Clinical Director and collaborating with a multidisciplinary team, the role requires a Bachelor’s degree in Social Work; MSW preferred. Schedule includes Saturday and Monday hours totaling 14 per week.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Social Work required.
• MSW or LMSW preferred.
• Spanish fluency is strongly ideal.
• Experience working with unhoused populations and individuals with severe mental illness is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive social services and case management to an assigned caseload.
• Assist clients with applying for government benefits and securing housing.
• Coordinate housing placement and linkage to on-site and community services.
• Provide crisis intervention and de-escalation as needed to support safety.
• Collaborate with on-site psychiatric/medical providers and multidisciplinary staff.
• Maintain timely, accurate documentation of services in agency databases.
