Job summary

Lenox Hill Neighborhood House on the Upper East Side of Manhattan is seeking a Per Diem Program Assistant to support the Women’s Mental Health Shelter’s day-to-day operations and client services.

You will greet clients, assist with daily living activities, deescalate crises, support shelter intake, coordinate with staff, and help ensure services meet high standards and regulations, with varied shifts.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree and relevant experience in homelessness services, behavioral health or residential support preferred.
• Fluency in Spanish is ideal.
• This is a Per Diem (Part-time) role with up to 20 hours per week.

Responsibilities

• Greet and orient clients, provide excellent customer service.
• Assist with activities of daily living and medication observation.
• Deescalate on-site crises and document incident summaries.
• Support shelter intake and connect clients with needed supports.
• Help operate shelter daily activities in line with standards and regulations.
• Collaborate with staff across departments.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
