DIAGNOSTIC ASSESSMENT SERVICES Inc. is seeking a part-time Speech Language Pathologist Assistant (SLPA) in Arlington, TX to support students with speech, language, or communication disorders.

Under supervision of a Speech-Language Pathologist, you will plan and deliver services, assist with IEP goals, and monitor progress in a public-school setting. The role requires a Texas SLP-A license and a Bachelor’s in Speech-Language Pathology.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited college or university.
• Current Texas state license as a Speech Language Pathologist Assistant.
• Working knowledge of federal laws, state guidelines and DAS policies.
• Knowledge of diagnostic procedures, instructional and behavioral modifications and accommodations.
• Thorough knowledge of communication disorders including all areas of language, phonological processes, articulation, voice and fluency.
• Excellent organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Practicum or previous employment in public school setting desired but not required.

Responsibilities

• Plan and provide Speech-Language Pathology services to students with speech, voice, or language disorders.
• Assess students and provide therapeutic intervention to eliminate or reduce problems.
• Implement, plan and provide speech-language pathology services under supervision of Speech Pathologist.
• Assume responsibility for organization and operation of work within the area of supporting students and staff.
• Abide by the Code of Ethics of ASHA and Texas rules and regulations.
• Assist the Licensed SLP in managing a caseload and developing IEPs for eligible students.
• Provide skilled planned therapy based on IEP goals and objectives.
• Prepare clinical materials, monitor and support classroom communication activities.
• Document student performance and report to the supervising SLP.
• Keep accurate records and attend scheduled meetings and in-services.
