Job summary

FMC Ice Sports in Massachusetts is seeking Junior Instructors to assist Learn to Skate and related programs under a Supervisor. This part-time role focuses on engaging groups and individuals, enforcing rink rules, and delivering a safe, friendly customer experience.

Ideal candidates are at least 16 years old, able to ice skate proficiently, and may have ISI Freestyle 3 or USFS Freeskate 3 for advanced skaters. Compensation varies by experience and program level.

Qualifications

• Previous experience assisting or teaching skating classes is preferred.
• Applicants must be able to ice skate proficiently. Figure skaters should have achieved and passed ISI Freestyle 3 or USFS Freeskate 3. Hockey players should have participated in multiple years of formal league play.
• Must be 16 years of age to apply.

Responsibilities

• Effectively uses customer service skills to control customer interactions.
• Educates the public to the habits and attitudes of safe ice activities.
• Enforcement of all rules regarding rink policies and operating procedures.
• Executes policies and procedures professionally and accurately.
• Maintains a clean and safe environment for patrons and staff.
• Responsible for completing all tasks assigned by the Program Supervisor or Instructor in a timely fashion.
• Attends scheduled staff meetings.
• Performs any other related or similar duty as assigned.
