Job summary

FMC Ice Sports in Massachusetts is seeking Junior Instructors to support Learn to Skate, Learn to Play, and figure skating programs under supervision. Responsibilities include assisting groups, engaging with participants, and promoting safe, positive ice activities.

Role is part-time with programs primarily in the afternoons, evenings, and on weekends. Must be able to skate proficiently, have some teaching experience, and be at least 16 years old. Background checks are required.

Qualifications

• Previous experience assisting or teaching skating classes.
• Applicants must be able to ice skate proficiently.
• Figure skaters should have achieved and passed ISI Freestyle 3 or USFS Freeskate 3.
• Hockey players should have participated in multiple years of formal league play.

Responsibilities

• Effectively uses customer service skills to control customer interactions.
• Educates the public to the habits and attitudes of safe ice activities.
• Enforcement of all rules regarding rink policies and operating procedures.
• Executes policies and procedures professionally and accurately.
• Maintains a clean and safe environment for patrons and staff.
• Responsible for completing all tasks assigned by the Program Supervisor or Instructor in a timely fashion.
• Attends scheduled staff meetings.
• Performs any other related or similar duty as assigned.
