Job summary

The Family Place in Dallas, TX is seeking a Part Time Resident Advocate to provide a safe, supportive environment for survivors of family violence as they begin rebuilding their lives. You will help keep the shelter secure, welcoming, and well-maintained while delivering compassionate, crisis-informed support.

Key duties include emotional support, intake assistance, safety planning, collaboration with case managers and volunteers, light housekeeping, and transporting clients as needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in psychology, social work, sociology, or similar with 6 months of experience in residential facilities.
• OR an associate degree with an equivalent combination of training and experience.
• Bilingual, English/Spanish, may be required for some roles.

Responsibilities

• Provide emotional support and crisis intervention for residents.
• Assist with intake, orientation, and immediate needs within 24 hours.
• Coordinate with Case Managers and supervise interns/volunteers.
• Maintain safety and cleanliness of the shelter.
• Transport clients and distribute essentials as needed.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.
