Job summary

The Community Builders, Inc. seeks a Service Technician II to handle apartment maintenance, repairs, and turnovers with a strong customer service focus. Under the Service Maintenance Manager, you will work independently on interior, exterior, and site tasks while ensuring safety and quality.

This part-time 20hrs/week role supports a growing nonprofit housing organization. Applicants should have at least 3 years of hands-on repair experience in two or more trades, plus basic tools and English

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• 3 years of progressive repair experience in two or more building trades.
• REAC/HQS experience preferred.
• Industry certifications (NAHMS, CAMT, OSHA, HVAC) preferred.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and repair appliances, carpentry, hardware, masonry, painting, basic electrical, plumbing, and HVAC.
• Respond to service requests and on-call emergencies promptly.
• Monitor preventive maintenance tasks for building systems and components.
• Repair vacant apartments for new resident move-ins.
• Maintain grounds and common spaces including cleaning and snow removal.
• Prepare repairs for REAC/HQS inspections and audits.
• Maintain maintenance shop and inventory with PPE in mind.
• Be available for weekend work, on-call rotation, and emergency calls.
• Assist Maintenance Supervisor with guidance to Maintenance Tech I.
