Qualifications

• Associate degree in Accounting, Bookkeeping, or a related field and 4 years of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Experience with accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger, budgeting, or other accounting work.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
• Ability to work independently and meet deadlines.
• Good math and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to review financial records and find errors.
• Good communication and customer service skills.
• Ability to handle private financial information.

Responsibilities

• Review and process vendor invoices and payments.
• Check invoices for correct amounts, codes, and supporting documents.
• Research and fix payment or accounting errors.
• Review payments before they are sent out.
• Maintain accounts receivable and general ledger records.
• Prepare invoices and billing documents.
• Track unpaid accounts and follow up as needed.
• Receive, record, and deposit checks and cash.
• Reconcile bank and account balances.
• Review budgets and track spending.
• Check budget and account codes for accuracy.
• Track income and expenses for contracts and projects.
• Prepare financial, budget, and other reports.
• Help with year-end accounting tasks.
• Keep accounting records organized and secure.
• Answer questions from staff, vendors, and others.
• Follow accounting rules, company policies, and deadlines.
