Job summary

Temporary Staffing Professionals in Placentia, CA seeks an experienced Staff Accountant to provide hands-on accounting support across general ledger activities, reconciliations, journal entries, financial reporting, and the month-end close.

The ideal candidate has a strong accounting foundation, 2+ years of professional experience, attention to detail, and proficiency with Excel and ERP systems; governmental or fund accounting experience is a plus.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred.
• 2+ years of professional accounting experience.
• Strong knowledge of general ledger accounting, reconciliations, journal entries, and financial reporting.
• Governmental or fund accounting experience is a plus.
• Knowledge of GAAP and exposure to GASB preferred.
• Proficiency in Excel and accounting/ERP systems.

Responsibilities

• Prepare journal entries and maintain general ledger accounts.
• Perform bank and account reconciliations and research discrepancies.
• Assist with month-end and year-end close.
• Reconcile AP and AR activity to the general ledger.
• Prepare financial reports and track revenues and expenditures against budget.
• Assist with annual audit schedules and supporting documentation.
• Review accounting transactions for accuracy, proper coding, and documentation.
• Support additional accounting and finance projects as needed.

This position will provide hands-on accounting support across general ledger activities, account and bank reconciliations, journal entries, financial reporting, and month-end close.
