Job summary

Allied Universal, a leading security provider, seeks an Access Control Officer for a luxury apartment community in Newport Beach, CA. This part-time role focuses on safeguarding residents, verifying access, and responding to alarms while delivering exceptional customer service.

You will monitor entry points, maintain logs, and uphold site policies. The position offers flexible shifts, a competitive hourly rate, and opportunities to advance within a dynamic security team.

Qualifications

• At least 6 months of security-related experience is required.
• Comfort using a computer or tablet is preferred.
• Customer service experience is preferred.
• Alarm panel experience is preferred.
• Access control and/or badge experience is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with laws.
• A drug screen may be required where permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to residents, visitors, and property staff by carrying out access-control procedures and site policies.
• Monitor access points for residential locations and verify visitor and vendor authorization.
• Respond to incidents and resident concerns in a calm, solution-oriented manner, escalating as needed.
• Conduct regular patrols of residential common areas, parking areas, entrances, and perimeters.
• Communicate professionally with residents, guests, delivery personnel, and contractors to maintain a welcoming environment.
