Allied Universal is seeking a Part-Time Security Officer in Newport Beach, CA for luxury apartment communities. You will monitor access points, verify residents and visitors, respond to alarms, and maintain accurate access logs while delivering exceptional customer service.

Qualifications

• At least 6 months of security-related experience is required.
• Comfort using a computer or tablet is preferred.
• Customer service experience is preferred.
• Alarm panel experience is preferred.
• Access control and/or badge experience is preferred.
• Must be at least 18 years old for unarmed roles; 21+ for armed roles.
• Background check required by law.
• Drug screening may be required.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to residents, visitors, and property staff while following access-control procedures and site policies.
• Monitor access points for residential locations and verify authorization, keeping logs up to date.
• Respond to incidents and resident concerns calmly, escalating per site procedures.
• Conduct regular and random patrols of common areas, parking, entrances, and perimeter to identify maintenance concerns or unusual activity.
• Communicate professionally with residents, guests, delivery personnel, and contractors to maintain a welcoming environment.

What You'll Do

• Provide customer service to residents, visitors, and property staff by carrying out access-control procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
• Monitor access points for residential locations, verify visitor and vendor authorization, and maintain accurate access-related logs and records.
• Respond to incidents, resident concerns, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, escalating matters according to site procedures.
• Conduct regular and random patrols of residential common areas, parking areas, building entrances, and property perimeter to help identify and report unusual activity or maintenance concerns.
• Communicate professionally with residents, guests, delivery personnel, and contractors while supporting a welcoming residential environment.

Minimum Requirements

• At least 6 months of security-related experience is required.
• Comfort using a computer or tablet is preferred.
• Customer service experience is preferred.
• Alarm panel experience is preferred.
• Access control and/or badge experience is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
