Job summary

Allied Universal in Topeka, KS is seeking a Security Officer - Enhanced Part Time Access Authorization to provide reliable, flexible hours at a designated site. The role offers opportunities to gain hands-on experience and grow toward a full-time career with the industry leader.

You will carry out access-control procedures, verify IDs, monitor entry points, and respond to incidents. The position pays $17.16 per hour with a six-month anchor shift and optional extra shifts through the scheduling

Qualifications

• Be at least 18 years old for unarmed roles; 21+ for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to employees, visitors, contractors, and delivery personnel by carrying out site-specific access-control procedures, policies, and emergency response activities at a food and beverage production location.
• Monitor entry and exit points, verify identification and authorization, issue visitor credentials, and maintain accurate access records in accordance with site procedures.
• Screen and direct incoming deliveries, vendors, and contractors to appropriate receiving areas while supporting facility access requirements.
• Respond to access-control incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, escalating concerns according to established protocols.
• Conduct regular and random patrols of entrances, parking areas, perimeter locations, and other assigned areas to help deter unauthorized access and identify security-related concerns.
