Job summary

Allied Universal in Fairfax, VA is seeking a Security Officer Enhanced Part Time DCJS Licensed Patrol. This role offers reliable hours at an assigned site with the flexibility to earn more by picking up additional shifts through our scheduling platform.

The position requires a Virginia DCJS license, 6 months security experience, and a high school diploma. You will provide customer service to patients, visitors, staff, and vendors while following site-specific policies and emergency procedures.

Qualifications

• 6 months of security-related experience.
• Valid Virginia DCJS license.
• Pepper spray certification preferred.
• 18+ years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ for armed roles.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Background check in accordance with federal, state, and local laws.
• Drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to patients, visitors, staff, and vendors while carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and emergency response activities at a healthcare location.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of the facility, parking areas, entrances, and perimeter to help identify unusual activity and help deter unauthorized access.
• Respond to incidents, critical situations, and requests for assistance in a calm, professional, problem-solving manner, following site-specific protocols.
• Monitor access points and visitor activity, verify credentials when required, and report suspicious or unauthorized activity to appropriate personnel.
• Prepare clear, accurate reports regarding incidents, patrol observations, and security-related concerns.
