Job summary

Allied Universal® in Reston, VA seeks a Security Officer Enhanced Part Time Armed Patrol to provide reliable, flexible coverage at a healthcare facility. This role offers fixed anchor shifts with the option to pick up additional shifts via our scheduling platform, helping you earn more while building experience.

The position requires at least six months in security, a Virginia DCJS license, and the ability to carry out security procedures, incident reporting, and armed patrols across the site.

Qualifications

• Six months of security-related experience.
• Virginia DCJS license required.
• Pepper spray certification preferred.
• State/local security license preferred.
• Experience with handcuffs, pepper spray, and batons preferred.
• 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Background check required by law.
• Drug screen required where permitted by law.
• Driver’s license required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to patients, visitors, and staff while carrying out security procedures and site policies.
• Respond to incidents calmly and promptly following site protocols.
• Conduct armed patrols across healthcare facilities, parking areas, entrances, and perimeters.
• Monitor access points and escalate concerns to site contacts or leadership.
• Prepare clear incident and patrol reports as required.
