Qualifications

• Must have New York State Security Guard License.
• At least 1 year of security-related experience.
• Age 18+ for unarmed roles; 21+ for armed roles.
• High school diploma or equivalent (or GED).
• Background check and drug screen as a condition of employment.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to visitors, employees, contractors, and the public at a government transportation location, following security procedures and emergency response protocols.
• Monitor access points, verify identification and authorization, manage visitor entry procedures, and log access records.
• Respond to incidents and security concerns with calm, professional, and problem-solving approaches, notifying appropriate personnel.
• Conduct regular and random patrols of transportation facilities, entrances, restricted areas, and perimeters to deter unauthorized access and identify suspicious activity.
• Report maintenance concerns, hazards, and policy violations through established channels.
