Job summary

Allied Universal is looking for a Security Officer - Enhanced Part Time in Chicago, IL. This role offers reliable, fixed shifts with optional extra shifts through the Earn More program, designed for flexible, income-stable part-time work.

The position requires at least 2 years of security experience, basic computer use, and a high school diploma. You will protect employees and visitors, monitor access, and respond to incidents with professionalism.

Qualifications

Minimum 2 years of security-related experience.
Comfort using a computer or tablet preferred.
Alarm panel experience preferred.
Customer service experience preferred.
Must be at least 18 years old for unarmed roles; 21+ for armed roles.
High school diploma or equivalent required.
Background check in accordance with laws.
Allied Universal will consider qualified applicants with criminal histories.
Drug screen required where permitted by law.
Licensing requirements may apply.

Responsibilities

Provide customer service to employees, visitors, and contractors by carrying out security-related procedures and site-specific policies.
Respond to incidents and access concerns in a calm, professional manner following escalation procedures.
Conduct regular patrols of buildings, common areas, parking, and perimeter to deter unauthorized activity.
Monitor access points and verify credentials per site procedures, documenting observations and incidents.
Communicate with site contacts and emergency responders to maintain a professional workplace environment.
