Qualifications

• Active RN license in good standing (Massachusetts)
• BSN/MSN or MSN/Ed preferred and licensure eligibility
• CPR/AED and First Aid certifications
• 3+ years of nursing experience preferred
• Experience with adolescents and school health needs
• Knowledge of school health laws and medication rules
• Ability to communicate with diverse populations
• Calm, sound clinical judgment in emergencies
• Strong organizational and documentation skills

Responsibilities

• Provide emergency first aid and nursing care to ill or injured students, staff, and patrons.
• Assess illnesses and injuries to determine level of care or emergency response.
• Maintain health records for Dual Enrollment participants including medical alerts and health plans.
• Develop and follow individualized student health plans and emergency procedures.
• Manage medication administration during program hours per orders and policy.
• Collaborate with public health programs and district health personnel.
• Communicate with parents, school staff, and health providers about student health needs.
• Maintain confidential health records and daily visit logs.
• Complete accident and incident reports per policy.
• Support district health and emergency protocols.
• Supervise health office supplies and preparedness.
• Provide health consultations to students and families.
• Liaise among Assabet, students, sending schools, and community agencies.
• Perform other duties related to School Nurse role.
