Job summary

Akron Children's Hospital is seeking a part-time Medical Assistant to support clinical and administrative tasks within the Nordonia Hills City Schools setting. The role operates under the direction of a Provider and/or licensed Nurse to assist with patient care and workflows.

The successful candidate will interface with patients and families, perform vital signs, venipuncture as needed, and help with data collection and documentation in the school medical record, while handling routine office

Responsibilities

• Interfaces with patients and families of Akron Children's Hospitals.
• Prepares patients for examination; takes and records vital signs; performs phlebotomy as needed; administers medications as directed by the Providers according to policy and procedure.
• Collects data contributing to assessment and discharge planning under the Licensed Nurse.
• Collects, processes, and submits laboratory specimens per policy and procedure.
• Communicates patient findings to the Provider and/or Licensed Nurse using appropriate documentation processes.
• Accurate and timely documentation of care within the school medical record.
• Performs department-specific duties such as POCT, hearing and vision screenings, and other procedures.
• Performs routine tasks and general office duties such as faxing, copying, and filing.
