Nordonia Hills City Schools is seeking a part-time Medical Assistant to provide clinical and administrative support under the direction of a Provider and/or licensed Nurse. Akron Children’s Hospitals is referenced for collaboration and standards.

You will prepare patients, take vital signs, perform phlebotomy, administer medications as directed, document care, and support the school health program with laboratory duties and care coordination.

Competenze

• Knowledge of medical terminology is required.
• Experience in healthcare environment preferred.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and EMR systems (EPIC) preferred.

Mansioni

• Interact with patients and families in the school health setting.
• Prepare patients for examination; record vital signs; perform phlebotomy as needed; administer meds per policy.
• Collect data for care plans and discharge needs under supervision of a licensed nurse.
• Process and submit laboratory specimens per policy.
• Communicate findings to Providers/Nurses with proper documentation.
• Document care accurately in the school medical record.
• Perform clinical duties such as POCT and vision/hearing screenings.
• Handle routine admin tasks: faxing, copying, filing.
• Prepare and stock examination rooms.
• Maintain positive relationships with students, families and staff.
• Complete all assignments during scheduled hours; follow safety policies.
• Other duties as assigned.
