Qualifications

• High school education or equivalent.
• At least six months of experience in school cafeteria food prep and serving preferred.
• Must be able to understand and follow simple oral and written instructions.
• Must be able to complete simple math calculations and read and write complete sentences.
• Must be able to use standardized kitchen utensils and equipment.
• Must be able to work independently and as a team.
• Must be able to establish and maintain good working relationships with staff and students.
• Must be able to lift 50 lbs. and stand for extended periods; refrigeration work is required.
• Bilingual skills including Spanish are a plus.

Responsibilities

• Prepares garnishes and serves food items to ensure quality and standards.
• Follows USDA/State guidelines while serving food.
• Receives and stores food in stockroom, freezers, and refrigerators.
• Cleans work surfaces, tables, counters, floors, and equipment.
• Maintains sanitary conditions per health standards.
• Washes pots, pans, kettles, and utensils.
• Assists in estimating, ordering, receiving, and stocking food supplies.
• Handles other related duties as assigned.
