Job summary

Durango School District 9-R is hiring a part-time Cook/Custodian at Durango Big Picture High School. The role runs 27.5 hours per week (7:30 am–1:30 pm, Monday–Friday) and includes health and dental insurance benefits. A $928.13 sign-on bonus is offered for the 26/27 school year, prorated for late start.

Starting immediately, the position is non-exempt and located at the Durango Big Picture High School with potential housing assistance for staff. Salary ranges from $20.83 to $24.05 per hour.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Experience in kitchen prep or cooking preferred.
• Criminal Background Check required for hire.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and serve meals for National School Lunch/Breakfast programs.
• Maintain kitchen cleanliness and sanitation.
• Cashier using the POS lunch system.
• Assist with ordering, storing, and inventory of food and supplies.
• Open/close kitchen operations and daily prep tasks.
• Perform cleaning and waste disposal as needed.
