Job summary

Durango School District 9-R is seeking a Part-time Cook/Custodian at Durango Big Picture High School. The position runs 7:30am to 1:30pm, Monday through Friday, 27.5 hours per week, starting August 17, 2026.

As part of the Food Services and Custodial teams, you will prepare and serve meals, keep the kitchen and building clean, operate the school POS system, and assist with inventory and food ordering. This role includes full health and dental insurance benefits and a one-time staff bonus

Qualifications

• Kitchen prep or cooking and food service experience preferred.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• First Aid/CPR/AED training preferred; criminal background check required.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and serve meals for the National School Lunch and Breakfast Programs.
• Stock and set up serving line and equipment required to serve meals.
• Sanitize dishes and cleaning areas after meals; maintain sanitation.
• Operate the Point of Sale lunch system and cashier.
• Assist with ordering, storing, and inventorying food and supplies.
• Perform cleaning and building readiness tasks and seasonal duties.
