Job summary

Durango School District 9-R in Durango, CO is hiring a Roving Cook (0.875 FTE) to travel to all school sites within the district, prepare and serve meals, maintain kitchen, and assist with ordering and inventory. Immediate start; reliable transportation required; full benefits provided.

Pay starts at $21.33 to $21.88 per hour with a non-exempt status. Previous kitchen experience preferred; FLSA status non-exempt; typical work year is 9 months.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Experience in kitchen prep or cooking; food service preferred.
• First Aid/CPR/AED training preferred.
• Criminal Background Check required for hire.
• Reliable transportation to travel to multiple school sites.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and serve food for the National School Lunch Program.
• Stock and set up the serving line and equipment.
• Sanitize dishes and areas after meals.
• Operate the POS lunch system and serve as the cashier.
• Assist with ordering, storing and inventory of food.
• Open and close kitchen preparations and cleaning.
• Cross train in all positions including manager role.
