Job summary

Sylvania is seeking a part-time Sweeper to help maintain clean and safe school facilities and grounds. The role involves custodial duties, light landscaping, and assisting with set-up for daily use and events.

Responsibilities include cleaning classrooms and restrooms, maintaining outdoor areas, stocking supplies, and supporting summer maintenance tasks. The position offers approximately 10 hours per week with a non-exempt status.

Qualifications

• Experience operating industrial cleaning equipment and maintenance tools.
• Ability to follow safety practices and procedures.

Responsibilities

• Clean assigned school facilities including classrooms, restrooms, gyms, and multipurpose rooms.
• Maintain school grounds, mowing, trimming, and basic landscaping tasks.
• Prepare facilities for daily operations and events by setting up spaces.
• Replenish supplies in classrooms and restrooms.
• Assist in setting up and cleaning areas for activities and events.
• Support summer maintenance tasks such as floor care and painting.
• Secure buildings and respond to alarms and safety concerns.
• Provide information on safety and facility use to students and staff.
• Unload supplies and distribute materials as needed.
• Participate in staff trainings and professional development.
