Responsibilities

• Maintain a thorough understanding of district facilities, cleaning methods, supplies, and equipment.
• Follow established cleaning procedures using appropriate chemicals and equipment.
• Clean and maintain classrooms, offices, restrooms, lounges, corridors, and assigned areas.
• Secure buildings by locking doors, closing windows, turning off lights, and adjusting heating or cooling systems as needed.
• Participate in required training and retraining sessions.
• Inspect facilities and report unsafe conditions to the Head Custodian or administrator.
• Operate equipment safely to prevent injury to self and others.
• Move furniture and equipment as needed for school activities and events.
• Comply with all regulations regarding the storage and disposal of trash, waste, and recyclable materials.
• Remain on school premises during assigned work hours and authorized building-use periods when required.
• Report any damage to school property immediately.
• Maintain facility security and monitor assigned areas.
• Maintain school grounds in a safe condition.
