Job summary

Queen of All Saints School in Chicago is seeking a school counselor to address the social-emotional needs of students from PreK through 8th grade. This role focuses on preventive services and a comprehensive counseling program to promote achievement and wellness.

Qualifications

• Master’s Degree or higher in Counseling, School Counseling, Social Work, Psychology.

Responsibilities

• Present school counseling classroom lessons based on standards.
• Provide short term counseling with students and referrals for long-term support.
• Provide counseling (group or individual) to teach intervention strategies to increase academic success.
• Collaborate with families/teachers/administrators/community for student success.
• Advocate for students at student support meetings and other student-focused meetings.
• Mobilize family, school and community resources to enable students to learn as effectively as possible.
• Collaborate with staff to support students through direct support or behavior management.
• Assist with crisis intervention and develop safety plans for students in need.
