Job summary

Saint James Elementary School in Red Bank, NJ is seeking a compassionate K–8 School Counselor. The part-time position offers flexible two-day-per-week scheduling and involves counseling, collaboration with families and staff, and promoting a faith-based, safe learning environment.

The counselor will support students' academic, social-emotional, and spiritual development, aligned with Catholic teachings. Qualified applicants will have relevant school counseling experience and required background

Qualifications

• Experience working with children in a school setting.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Background check and Virtus training required.

Responsibilities

• Provide individual and group counseling to students in K–8.
• Support students' academic and social-emotional development.
• Promote a safe, inclusive school culture aligned with Catholic teachings.
• Collaborate with faculty and staff on programs addressing bullying prevention and character education.
• Provide crisis intervention and referrals when needed.
