Job summary

At Sodexo, a part-time Cook position is available in the school district setting. You will prepare, portion, cook, and present meals, ensuring safe handling and quality presentation across all meal periods and events.

You will work in a fast-paced kitchen, uphold sanitation standards, and support teamwork with flexible, reliable shift coverage. The role requires 0 to 2 years of related experience, the ability to read and follow recipes, and familiarity with kitchen equipment.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED or equivalent experience.
• 0 to 2 years of related work experience.
• Knowledge of basic operation of equipment and food-handling procedures preferred.
• Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
• Good working knowledge of food preparation.
• Requires familiarity of kitchen equipment.
• Must be able to read and follow a recipe unsupervised.

Responsibilities

• Prepare, portion, cook, and present hot and cold food for all meal periods and events in accordance with Sodexo’s culinary standards for quality, presentation, and consistency.
• Ensure all food products are prepared safely, accurately, and efficiently while maintaining a clean and organized workstation.
• Support Sodexo’s commitment to providing an exceptional dining experience by delivering high-quality dishes and upholding high standards of food safety and sanitation.
• Follow basic recipes and product directions for preparing, seasoning, cooking, tasting, carving, and serving soups, meats, vegetables, desserts, etc.
• Estimate food requirements, check production, and keep records to plan production and requisition supplies and equipment.
• Attend work and show up on time for scheduled shifts; other duties may be assigned.
