Job summary

Sodexo is hiring a Cook I in ELKHORN to accurately prepare, portion, cook, and present a variety of hot and cold foods for all meals and events. Maintain safe, clean workstations and support a high-quality dining experience in a fast-paced kitchen.

The role emphasizes following recipes, ensuring food safety, and contributing to teamwork. Requires basic kitchen knowledge and ability to read and follow recipes, with potential for schedule variability by account.

Qualifications

• High School diploma, GED or equivalent experience.
• 0 to 2 years of related work experience.
• Knowledge of basic operation of equipment and food-handling procedures preferred.
• Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
• Good working knowledge of food preparation.
• Familiarity with kitchen equipment.
• Must be able to read and follow a recipe unsupervised.

Responsibilities

• Prepare, portion, cook and present hot and cold food items for all meal periods and events according to Sodexo’s standards.
• Follow recipes and product directions for preparing, seasoning, cooking, and serving foods.
• Estimate food requirements, check production, and keep records to plan production and requisition supplies.
• Significant walking or other mobility required.
• Ability to stand for extended periods (up to 8+ hours).
• Lift up to 35 pounds regularly and up to 50 pounds occasionally.
• Perform repetitive motions.
• Attend shifts on time; may vary by account.
