Job summary

Richmond Public Schools is hiring a Food Service Assistant at Richmond Community High School. This part-time position (5.5 hours/day, 5 days/wk) supports meal preparation and serving in a warm school kitchen environment.

Responsibilities include following guidelines, receiving and storing supplies, maintaining sanitation, and assisting in ordering. Strong customer service and teamwork are essential; bilingual Spanish is a plus.

Qualifications

• High school education or equivalent.
• Six months in school cafeteria food prep/serving preferred.
• Ability to follow simple oral and written instructions.
• Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs and stand for extended periods.
• Learn and follow health/sanitation guidelines.

Responsibilities

• Prepare garnishes and serve food items per guidelines.
• Follow USDA/state guidelines when serving food.
• Receive, store, and stock food supplies.
• Clean work surfaces, tables, counters, and equipment.
• Maintain sanitary conditions per health standards.
• Assist in estimating, ordering, and stocking foods.
