Job summary

LifeWise Academy seeks a part-time LifeWise vehicle driver to provide safe, reliable transportation for students and volunteers between home, school, and LifeWise sites.

The role requires a legally licensed driver with a clean record, adherence to safety rules, and willingness to submit required background checks and medical statements. Position is non-exempt, hourly, with duties including classroom volunteering as arranged by the Director.

Qualifications

• A mature personal Christian faith aligned with LifeWise Academy Statement of Faith
• Active participation in a local church whose doctrine aligns with LifeWise Statement of Faith
• Regular driver''s license; consistently licensed for past three years
• CDL with passenger endorsement required for vehicles seating more than 15 passengers; or 15-passenger van (no special license)
• Age 21–80; drivers over 75 must submit additional documentation annually
• Clean driving record with no at-fault accidents or citations in last five years
• Undergo and pass LifeWise background check; annual physician''s statement for known medical conditions
• Drug and/or alcohol testing as required (pre-employment, random, post-accidents)

Responsibilities

• Transport children and LifeWise volunteers to and from the LifeWise site
• Obey traffic laws
• Maintain bus cleanliness and safety; perform regular inspections
• Refuel the vehicle as needed
• Create a safe environment for children; enforce safety rules
• Assist students with entering/exiting the vehicle
• Demonstrate a calm, caring demeanor; monitor student behavior
• Volunteer in LifeWise classroom if agreed with Director
