Job summary

LifeWise Academy is seeking a part-time CDL bus driver to transport students and volunteers between locations and LifeWise sites. The driver must maintain a clean driving record, pass background checks, and comply with FMCSA Clearinghouse requirements.

Responsibilities include safe driving, enforcing school safety rules, maintaining bus cleanliness, and performing routine inspections. Training is mandatory, with potential classroom volunteering as agreed with the director.

Qualifications

• CDL with passenger vehicle endorsement (P) required.
• Age 21–80; CDL driver above 75 must submit license copy with (P) endorsement annually.
• Clean driving record with no at-fault accidents or citations in last five years.
• Background check and FMCSA Clearinghouse check required.
• Drug/alcohol testing required (pre-employment, random, post-accidents).
• Medical statements for known conditions may be required.

Responsibilities

• Transport children and LifeWise volunteers to and from the LifeWise site.
• Obey traffic laws and maintain bus cleanliness and safety.
• Perform regular bus inspections and refuel as needed.
• Create a safe environment for children and enforce safety rules.
• Complete required LifeWise Academy training; may volunteer in classroom if approved.
