Job summary

Chillicothe R-II School District is seeking a part-time Bus Aide for the Transportation Department in Chillicothe, MO. You will supervise students on the bus, assist with boarding and alighting, and communicate attendance and messages to teachers daily.

Requirements include a high school diploma or GED and CPR/First Aid certification (provided by employer). This nine-month position offers a salary to be established by the Board of Education.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Provide a safe environment for children on the bus and ensure proper use of restraints.
• Supervise and assist children as they get on and off the bus.
• Communicate absences and messages to teachers daily.
• Monitor behavior and report disciplinary issues to Transportation Secretary and/or Assistant Superintendent.
• Assist children in resolving conflicts and developing problem-solving skills.
• Serve as a role model through positive communication with children, bus drivers, staff and parents.
• Follow all guidelines in the Staff Handbook and board policy.
• Share responsibility with the bus driver to ensure children are delivered to an approved adult.
