Chillicothe R-II School District Transportation Dept in Chillicothe, MO is seeking a Substitute Bus Driver to safely transport students to and from school and activities. The role requires a CDL Class B with School Bus endorsement, a high school diploma or GED, and a clean driving record.

Nine months a year with a daily rate of $94. Responsibilities include pre/post trip inspections, bus cleanliness, route discipline, and reporting incidents to the mechanic/director.

Qualifications

• At least 21 years of age.
• Possess a valid Class B, CDL Missouri driver’s license with School bus endorsement.
• Annual physical exam within 60 days prior to employment; heart conditions may disqualify.
• Prefer minimum of two years driving experience.
• Missouri Certified Bus Drivers Training completed.
• Safe driving record.
• No alcohol or narcotic addiction; random drug testing will occur.

Responsibilities

• Drive safely and transfer students to and from school and activities.
• Complete a daily pre and post trip inspection and submit forms.
• Maintain bus cleanliness and general appearance; wash bus monthly.
• Call the bus mechanic/director when ill or a substitute is needed; report issues.
• Follow transportation laws, district policies, and bus discipline rules.
• Adhere to assigned schedules and authorized stops; report delays or mechanical failures.
