Job summary

PATH (People Assisting The Homeless) seeks a part-time Safety Support Associate for the Silverlake Interim Housing site in Los Angeles. The role supports safety, engages participants, and coordinates with case management and security teams. Scheduling includes Saturdays and Sundays, 7:00am–3:30pm, with non-exempt status.

The position emphasizes harm reduction, crisis de-escalation, and collaboration with staff to maintain a safe environment and access to needed supplies.

Qualifications

• All levels of experience and education welcome.
• Must have employment eligibility verification.
• Willing to obtain CPR/First Aid training and pass required screenings (TB, background, drug).

Responsibilities

• Assist with ensuring the overall safety of the interim housing site using observation, de-escalation strategies, and ongoing participant engagement.
• Coordinate with the on-site case management team to provide support to the interim housing site.
• Coordinate with contracted security agencies (if applicable) to ensure the safety of the interim housing site.
• Conduct regular rounds of the interim housing site and facility grounds and communicate and observe discrepancies or concerns.
• Respond to interim housing security and/or crisis situations using non-violent crisis intervention and verbal de-escalation strategies, including a team approach.
• Assist with completing reports as necessary or requested.
• Attend meetings and provide input and feedback related to safety and support operations.
• Attend and engage in all required training sessions and staff meetings.
