Job summary

Providence Health and Services is seeking a Registered Nurse specialized in wound ostomy care for Providence Portland Medical Center. This per diem, part-time role covers daytime shifts on weekdays, focusing on complex wound and ostomy management throughout inpatient and outpatient settings.

The Wound Ostomy Nurse will work with a multidisciplinary team, deliver individualized care plans, educate patients, and lead initiatives like skin prevalence studies to improve outcomes.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing required.
• Oregon RN license required upon hire.
• BLS certification required upon hire.
• CWON or CWON-ready within 12 months of hire preferred.
• Minimum 2 years of recent acute care nursing experience, preferably including wound/ostomy care.

Responsibilities

• Develop personalized wound, ostomy, and skin care plans for patients.
• Educate patients to manage their care after discharge.
• Train hospital staff in best practices for wound/ostomy care.
• Lead skin prevalence studies and support our Skin Care Resource Nurse team.
• Provide inpatient and outpatient ostomy clinic support and follow-up.
