Job summary

Providence Portland Medical Center is seeking an experienced Registered Nurse specializing in wound ostomy to join our inpatient team on a per diem, part-time basis, weekdays day shift.

As a Wound Ostomy Continence Nurse, you will develop personalized care plans, educate patients, train staff in best practices, lead Skin Prevalence studies, and provide outpatient clinic support, including stoma markings and follow-up care.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing is required.
• Oregon RN license required at hire.
• BLS certification at hire.
• CWON certification or obtain CWON within 12 months of hire.
• 2 years recent acute care nursing experience, preferably including wound and ostomy care.

Responsibilities

• Craft personalized wound, ostomy, and skin care plans that guide patients from hospital to home.
• Educate patients and empower them to manage their care with confidence.
• Train and support nursing staff across the hospital in best practices for wound, ostomy, and incontinence skin care.
• Lead quarterly Skin Prevalence studies and champion the Skin Care Resource Nurse team.
• Provide outpatient ostomy clinic support, including expert stoma site markings and follow-up care.

Education

Bachelor's Degree in Nursing

Oregon Registered Nurse License

BLS — American Heart Association

CWON certification

CWON certification within 12 months
