Job summary

Advocate Trinity Hospital in Chicago is seeking a part-time Registered Nurse in Med Surg (IU 3 South) to provide patient-centered care. The role is 24 hours per week, with every other Friday and Saturday night shifts.

Qualifications

• Registered Nurse license issued by the state where you practice.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers certification.
• Completion of an accredited nursing program.
• Typically requires 1 year of clinical nursing experience.

Responsibilities

• Use the nursing process to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate care with patient/family involvement.
• Monitor for changes in patient condition and adjust care plan; coordinate with health care team.
• Implement strategies to reduce patient risk and increase safety; educate patient and family.
• Coordinate discharge planning with an interdisciplinary approach and evidence-based practice.
• Communicate effectively; lead the care team and delegate to unlicensed staff.
• Promote safety culture; report safety events and identify corrective actions.
• Apply ethical decision making and collaborate with care team.
• Participate in quality/process improvement initiatives and professional development.
