Job summary

Ophthalmology LTD Ambulatory Surgery Center in Sioux Falls, SD is seeking a part-time Registered Nurse (RN) for Pre/Post-Op care. You will participate in admissions, education, recovery, and communications with patients, families, and the surgical team to promote excellent outcomes.

The ideal candidate holds an SD RN license with BLS and ACLS, and has strong assessment and communication skills. BSN is preferred; ambulatory surgery or ophthalmology experience is a plus, with a schedule averaging

Qualifications

• Current South Dakota Registered Nurse (RN) license.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• Current Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification.
• Strong clinical assessment and communication skills.
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced surgical environment.
• BSN preferred; ambulatory surgery or ophthalmology experience valued.

Responsibilities

• Complete patient admissions and discharge processes in accordance with physician orders and center policies.
• Provide skilled pre-operative and post-operative nursing care.
• Perform patient assessments and document findings.
• Educate patients and families on procedures, recovery, medications, and discharge instructions.
• Monitor patient recovery and communicate concerns to the surgical team.
• Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesia providers, technicians, and center staff; ensure compliance with standards.
