Job summary

Vision Innovation Partners is seeking a Peri-Operative Registered Nurse (RN) to provide safe, high-quality nursing care across the surgical continuum in our ambulatory surgery setting. The role includes pre-operative assessments, circulating nurse duties, medication administration, and PACU care, with emphasis on documentation and patient safety.

Minimum 2 years OR experience (prefer ophthalmology), active RN license, and BCLS/ACLS/PALS certifications are required.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years' experience in an operating room setting, preferably ophthalmology.
• Active RN license as required by state of employment or appropriate compact licensure.
• Graduate from an accredited school of professional nursing.
• Valid BCLS, ACLS & PALS certifications required upon employment (through American Heart Association).

Responsibilities

• The Peri-Operative Registered Nurse provides safe, high-quality nursing care across the surgical continuum in an Ambulatory Surgery Center (ASC).
• Performs comprehensive pre-operative assessments, verifies consents, H&P, orders, and time-out procedures.
• Functions as circulating nurse during procedures, coordinating room activities and anticipating surgeon/anesthesia needs.
• Prepares and administers medications safely and per orders.
• Collaborates with anesthesia during induction and emergencies; responds to changes in patient condition.
• Provides PACU care including airway management, monitoring vital signs, and pain control.
• Ensures accurate documentation and communicates effective hand-offs between pre-op, OR, and PACU.
• Adheres to safety protocols and performs nursing duties as assigned.
