Job summary

EyeSouth Partners’ Eye Center of St. Augustine is seeking an experienced Registered Nurse to provide comprehensive perioperative nursing care in a fast-growing eye care setting.

The RN will collaborate with physicians and a multidisciplinary team to ensure patient safety and quality care before, during, and after procedures. Ideal candidates hold an active Florida RN license, BLS/ACLS, and have pre-op/PACU experience within the last two years.

Qualifications

• RN licensure in the state where work will be conducted (Florida).
• Graduate of accredited school of nursing.
• BLS and ACLS certifications are required.
• Current Pre-op/PACU experience within past 2 years.
• Ability to make sound nursing judgments.
• Ability to manage time and prioritize direct patient care.
• Working knowledge of hospital or ambulatory surgery center environments.

Responsibilities

• Observe facility policies, procedures, and processes.
• Prepare patients for planned procedures.
• Obtain patient medical history including medications, allergies, and reactions.
• Carry out physician’s orders and monitor patients’ conditions.
• Communicate with patients and care team effectively.
• Administer medications per physician order and document care.
• Supervise non-licensed personnel as assigned.
• Maintain appropriate supplies and assist with procedures.
• Protect patient privacy and maintain confidentiality at all times.
• Report and document unusual occurrences promptly.
