Job summary

Veno’s Specialty Foods & Meats is seeking a Retail Prep Cook in a unique hybrid role that blends kitchen prep with front-of-house display and guest service. You’ll prepare and portion ingredients, create salads and sandwiches, and maintain clean, safe work areas.

The position offers a Monday–Friday daytime schedule (9:00 AM–2:00 PM) with competitive pay and a path for growth, including paid Food Handler certification.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Previous culinary training or kitchen experience is a major plus.

Responsibilities

• Wash, chop, and portion ingredients following daily prep lists.
• Execute foundational cooking techniques and assemble salads, sandwiches, and entrees.
• Uphold health and safety standards; wash dishes and sanitize workstations.
• Assist kitchen staff and provide support as needed.
• Greet guests, weigh and price items, and assist with display case merchandising.
• Manage cash and credit transactions at the register; answer phone calls with good etiquette.
• Maintain attractive storefront displays and ensure store operations run smoothly.
