Veno’s Specialty Foods & Meats is seeking a Weekend Retail & Culinary Associate to join us on Saturdays and Sundays, blending front-of-house service with kitchen preparation. In this part-time role, you will create appealing displays, assist customers, and support culinary prep in a collaborative environment.

If you take pride in delivering quality food and teamwork, you’ll fit right in with our friendly, hands-on team on weekends.

Qualificações

• High school diploma or equivalent; culinary training is a major plus.
• Experience in customer service and food retail preferred.
• Strong communication and teamwork abilities.

Responsabilidades

• Provide exceptional, friendly customer service.
• Pack, weigh, price, and recommend premium items at the display case.
• Organize storefront with attractive fresh displays.
• Manage cash and credit transactions at the register.
• Answer calls with warmth and etiquette.
• Cross-train to cover for others as needed.
• Follow prep lists and plan daily duties in kitchen.
• Prepare ingredients by washing, chopping, and measuring.
• Reduce sauces, parboil foods, and prepare simple dishes.
• Label, stock, and store ingredients; keep kitchen organized.
• Assist kitchen staff with additional prep as needed.
• Maintain a clean, safe kitchen and comply with health procedures.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the Meat Manager or Store Manager.

In this blended role, you will be the welcoming face of our retail service counter while also rolling up your sleeves to support our kitchen operations. The Details

• Position: Part-Time (Weekends Only)
• Schedule: Saturdays 10:00 am – 6:30 pm & Sundays 8:00 am – 2:30 pm (Perfect for a set, predictable weekend routine!)
• Compensation: Pay based on experience.
• Bonus: Required Food Handler Certification is fully paid for by Veno’s.

What You'll Do

Customer Experience & Retail (Front of House)

• Provide exceptional, friendly customer service that consistently exceeds expectations.
• Pack, weigh, price, and confidently recommend premium cuts and specialty items to customers at the display case.
• Organize and maintain the storefront with attractive, fresh retail displays.
• Smoothly manage cash and credit transactions at the register.
• Answer telephone calls with warmth and proper etiquette.
• Jump in to provide lateral coverage for other personnel in the store when necessary.

Culinary Prep & Kitchen (Back of House)

• Follow manager-created prep lists to efficiently plan and execute daily duties.
• Prepare cooking ingredients by washing and chopping vegetables, cutting meat, and measuring seasonings.
• Undertake basic cooking duties, including reducing sauces, parboiling food, and preparing simple dishes like salads and entrees.
• Label, stock, and properly store all ingredients on shelves to keep the kitchen organized and accessible.
• Assist kitchen personnel with additional prep as needed.

Operations & Safety

• Maintain a clean, safe, and orderly kitchen by washing dishes, sanitizing surfaces, and removing trash.
• Strictly comply with all nutrition, sanitation, and applicable health procedures, adhering to safe work practices at all times.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the Meat Manager, Store Manager, or Supervisor.

What We’re Looking For

• Education & Experience: High school diploma or equivalent. Culinary training is a major plus!
• Mindset: Strong work ethic, trustworthiness, and a genuine passion for teamwork and integrity.
• Customer Focus: Excellent communication skills with a natural ability to connect with people.
• Physical Capability: Ability to stand and walk for extended shifts, as well as bend, stoop, grasp objects, climb ladders, and lift up to 50 pounds.
• Availability: Ready and reliable to work the required weekend shifts.
