Job summary

Dollar Tree in California is hiring a part-time associate to assist customers, process sales at the register, and help keep the store stocked and clean. You will unload merchandise, restock shelves, and maintain a safe, friendly shopping environment.

The role emphasizes strong communication, organization, and problem-solving skills, with physical duties including lifting and standing for long periods. Prior retail experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Previous customer service experience in retail, hotel, restaurant, grocery, or drug store environment is highly preferred.
• Ability to follow instructions and interpret operational documents is required.
• Must be able to lift between 30 and 50 lbs. and be able to stand, walk, and perform frequent movements.
• Excellent customer service and relationship management skills are required.
• Strong organizational and communication skills are required.
• Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills are required.

Responsibilities

• Assist customers with questions and recommendations.
• Manage sales transactions while working assigned cash register.
• Maintain security of cash and protect company assets.
• Keep the store well-stocked, and recover merchandise.
• Receive merchandise and help with unloading trucks, stock replenishment in accordance with productivity standards.
• Ensure a positive, safe, and respectful environment with customers, associates, and leaders.
• Maintain store cleanliness, bathrooms, floors, trash, and neat presentation.
