Flowerama in Windsor Heights, IA is seeking hardworking, upbeat individuals for day, evening, and weekend shifts in our Florist and Gift store. The role emphasizes strong customer service and retail experience with opportunities to grow within the 1-800-Flowers Enterprise family.

Pay is based on experience. Part-time benefits include holiday pay, paid vacation, discretionary time-off, flexible schedule, and employee discounts across the enterprise. We promote from within wherever possible.

Qualifications

• Prior retail sales experience is preferred.
• Excellent customer service experience is essential.
• Strong telephone skills and ability to establish rapport with customers.
• Familiarity with florist business is helpful but not mandatory.
• Floral design experience is helpful but not mandatory.
• Ability to work as part of a team while completing tasks.
• Typing ability (30 WPM) is preferred.
• Point of Sale experience is a plus.
• Strong communications and interpersonal skills including verbal and written communication.
• Ability to lift 40lbs unassisted and stand for long periods.

Responsibilities

• Provide friendly, helpful customer service at the Flowerama store.
• Assist customers with floral and gift selections.
• Answer phone inquiries and process transactions at the POS.
• Maintain store cleanliness and arrange displays as needed.
• Work a flexible schedule including days, evenings, and weekends.

• Commitment to work a flexible schedule in a fast-paced creative environment. We are open Monday - Friday 7am-7pm, Saturday 8am-7pm, and Sunday 10am-4pm. Please note that during busy holiday times, hour of operation will be extended to meet the needs of our customers. Employees are also expected to work extended hours during Valentine’s Day and Mother’s Day weeks, including Valentine’s Day and Mother’s Day.
