Job summary

Dollar Tree in Port Charlotte, FL is seeking an Assistant Store Manager to support store operations, customer service, and team development. You will assist with day-to-day activities, help customers, and ensure the store runs smoothly.

The role involves organizing merchandise, opening and closing duties, payroll and scheduling records, and protecting store assets. You will help train Store Associates and maintain clean, safe, and inviting environments for customers and staff.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred; ability to read, interpret, and explain operational directives is required.
• Store management experience in retail, grocery, or drug store environment is preferred.
• Must be able to lift up to 55 lbs. from floor to above shoulder height and meet demands of frequent walking, standing, stooping, kneeling, climbing, pushing, pulling, and repetitive lifting.
• Strong communication, interpersonal, and written skills are required.
• Ability to work in a high-energy, team environment is required.
• Exceptional customer service, organizational, and communication skills are required.
• Strong problem solving and decision-making skills are required.

Responsibilities

• Assist with store functions and day-to-day activities.
• Help customers in a positive, approachable manner and address questions or concerns.
• Organize and transfer merchandise from delivery to stockroom to sales floor and maintain seasonal areas.
• Perform opening and closing procedures as needed.
• Process corporate directives and communications related to store activities.
• Maintain promotional fixtures and displays and ensure store cleanliness within company standards.
• Assist in ordering merchandise, processing damaged merchandise, payroll/scheduling, and cash handling.
• Supervise and develop Store Associates and maintain a safe, respectful environment.
